Frost Over Barraba

With multiple venues and events, Frost is truly Over Barraba! This popular event has developed over 38 years to become a well known and well respected regional Arts Festival, showcasing the scope of creative talent in the New England North West region of New South Wales.

Preview Night will be held on Thursday 28th June, from 6.30pm, at the Barraba RSL Memorial Hall, cnr Queen and Savoy Streets, Barraba. Winners are announced at 7pm, with canapes served afterwards.
Preview Night marks the opening of The Frost Over Barraba Arts Festival, which includes a number of events and activities in multiple venues around town.
Events include the Art Exhibition, located in the RSL Memorial Hall, opening from 10am to 4pm each day. It is anticipated that over 500 pieces of artwork will be on display as part of the Art Exhibition. Schedule and Entry Forms for the Art Exhibition are available to download on the home page of The Barraba Community website, barraba.com.au. Morning and afternoon tea will be available at the Hall. Entry is $15 for 2 adults 2 kids, $7 adults, $1 kids.
Artists and Artisans at Work and the Junior Exhibition will be in Barraba Youth Centre on Friday and Saturday, and on Saturday the Frost Fair will be held in the grounds of St Laurence Church, along with a concert by the Inverell Men's Choir in the Church.
The Playhouse Hotel will be hosting the 2012 Namoi CMA Photographic Competition over the Frost weekend and beyond. Local photographer Peter Dwyer won this competition this year.
In addition, the Fuller Gallery has a Rupert Richardson Exhibition, and also a Quilt, Handcraft & Pottery Exhibition. They will be open all three days from 10am to 3pm.
Other avtivities include an Exhibition at The Barraba Pantry Gallery, and both the Nandewar Historical Museum and The Shed of Knowledge will be opening over the weekend.
